Where Business and Technology Meets and Becomes Useful
Windows 7 is here!
I almost feel obligated to blog about Windows 7, which is officially going to hit shelves October 22, 2009 (tomorrow). I have personally been using Windows 7 for a few months now, and am quite impressed with many of the updates and changes.
The first thing that will make many users happy to hear is you do not need Windows 7 drivers. You are able to use existing Windows Vista drivers with Windows 7 for your devices. Sorry XP users, you may be updating some hardware, but the rest of us who already made the painful switch to Vista will find the switch to Windows 7 a pleasant experience.
Windows 7 has been faster and more reliable than previous operating systems (including Windows XP). I have noticed a significant decrease in startup time, increase in multi-tasking capabilities, and better crash recovery. I even found the Compatibility mode to be useful! Yes, it actually worked.
There is many other features and I could rant and rave about it for pages, suffice to say. If you are unhappy with your current operating system, or thinking of upgrading. Go for it! If you need help, we at SI2 are always here to answer your questions.
