Ensuring the Insurance Company is Successful

In today’s global marketplace, the insurance marketplace is brutally competitive. However, nothing beats the personal touch of a smaller firm that knows you, your family and can design a plan that is right for you. On the Eastern Shore of Maryland there is a company with of 150 years of experience working with businesses, farms and families to insure they have the right combination policies to protect them now and in the future.

SI2 came into this business when their in house IT department didn’t have time to support their very own network. The woman supporting the network had to go back to her full time job,  supporting their agents’ sales efforts.   Initially they looked into hiring a replacement. However, after completing an SI2 Technical Assessment used to define qualifications needed for the candidate search, it was decided that they should upgrade their technology and give their agents better mobile access.

They put their plans to hire any in-house staff on hold until after we completed this technology transfer.  But, doesn’t Murphy’s Law always seem to find a way to work its magic?

During this process their neighbor’s water pipes burst and ruined their office space. They called SI2 and their team was able to restore the network, all the PC’s and related data long before they had any idea where we were going to work.  This quick response allowed many of their employees to work from home and be productive while  deciding how we were going to relocate.  SI2 was able to provide PC’s and  training so that our people could get online and back to work.  One of the more challenging aspects of this process was gaining access to secure clients’ data so that the agents could service clients questions. SI2 was able to work with our providers back offices so that their agents could gain access. This allowed business to continue with very little interruption. Many clients had no idea what the company had just gone through.

Since then, SI2 has expanded the relationship to become an outsourced IT department.
